Our Activities during West Pride 2026

RFSL

During West Pride 2026, RFSL Gothenburg are organizing a whole bunch of activities.

There will be important lectures and panel discussions, exciting workshops and exhibitions, and the return of fun traditions such as Dirty Bingo and Friendship Speeddating. What is your thing?

All week:

Expressions of Resilience: Art by Queer Asylum Seekers – (Uttryck av motståndskraft: Konst av queera-asylsökande) – English

01-21 of June – Regnbågshuset

Art, poetry and writing by queer asylum seekers and migrants that showcase creative expressions that often remain unseen. The works reflect migration, identity, resilience and queer joy, and provide insight into the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ newcomers in Sweden.
Through the art, participants share both the challenges they face and the strength, creativity and agency that emerges from their journeys, inviting visitors to engage with these stories in a reflective and meaningful way.

Monday:

Myths we inherit and truths we create – (Myter vi ärver och sanningar vi skapar) – in Swedish

8th of Jun, time: 16.15-17.00 – Hörsalen, Pride House, Stadsbiblioteket.

One of the strengths of the trans community is our ability to share knowledge and experiences. But what happens when well-meaning advice turns into truths that are not acurate?

Meet Lio Gustafsson (RFSL Gothenburg), Oliver Jähnke (Transpodden) and Edward Summanen (Transammans) in a conversation about how we can navigate all this information with caution, care and vigilance.

The conversation is separatist for trans people and those close to trans people.

Consent from within: a workshop on sexual empowerment – (Samtycke inifrån: en workshop om sexuell egenmakt) – Swedish

8th of June, time: 18.00-19.30 – RFSL Göteborg, Skeppsbron 4

We often talk about consent as something that happens between people. But isn’t consent with yourself the most important thing? Sexperterna (The Sexperts) Gothenburg invites you to an evening where we explore consent as an inner compass rather than just an external rule. We delve into what “self-consent” means and how we can start listening to our body’s own signals. Through safe, reflective exercises, you get to land in your physical sensations and explore the nuances between desire, hesitation and boundaries. This is a workshop for all LGBTQ+ people who want to strengthen their presence and become more confident in owning their own experience.

Tuesday:

Vaccine for life! HPV panel on sex, cancer and rights – (Vaccin för livet! HPV-panel om sex, cancer och rättigheter) – In Swedish

9th June, time: 14.15-15.00 – Hörsalen, Pride House, Stadsbiblioteket

HPV, what is it? Do you want to learn more about HPV and what it has to do with sex and cancer for you who are LGBTQI people? Then this is the seminar for you. We talk about HPV and the new offer of free HPV vaccination for everyone between 18 and 26 years of age. But are there more people who would need HPV vaccination? About this and other things we will talk to experts on the matter. Come and ask your questions.

The seminar is arranged by the Västra Götalands Region and RFSL Gothenburg.

Panel: LGBTIQ+ Asylum – Lived Experience and the Law – English

9th of June, time: 18.15-19.30 – Hörsalen, Pride House, Stadsbiblioteket.

This panel brings together legal expertise, community knowledge, and lived experience to explore the realities facing LGBTIQ+ asylum seekers and migrants in Sweden today. Through conversation and shared perspectives, the panel aims to educate and inform about the legal and social challenges within the asylum system, while also creating space for voices that are too often marginalized, unheard, or spoken about rather than with. The panel will be in English.

Checkpoint Göteborg – Get tested during West pride

09th og June, Time: 18:00-20.00 – RFSL Göteborg, Skeppsbron 4

Do you need to get tested for HIV or syphilis? Checkpoint Gothenburg is a testing clinic that offers rapid response testing – anonymously and completely free of charge. We are aimed at men who have sex with men, transgender people and sex workers within the LGBTQI community. Welcome to our drop-in clinic on Tuesdays between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. We offer a safe environment where you can get answers right on the spot.

Wednesday:

Protection from discrimination for transgender people in contact with healthcare – (Diskrimineringsskyddet för transpersoner i kontakt med vården) – Swedish

10th of June, time: 13.30-14.15 – Hörsalen, Pride House, Stadsbiblioteket.

The Discrimination Act is clear, but for many transgender people, the encounter with healthcare is still associated with both uncertainty and anxiety. What does the protection against discrimination look like – and what happens when it is lacking in practice? Welcome to a conversation between RFSL Gothenburg and Diskrimineringsombudsmannen about the gap between the protection of the law and what it is actually like to be a patient as a transgender person.

How does the Discrimination Act protect LGBTQI people? – (Hur skyddar diskrimineringslagen hbtqi-personer?) – Swedish

10th of June, time: 17.00-17.45 – Trappscenen, Pride House, Stadsbiblioteket

Are you aware of your rights as an LGBTQI person at work, at school or in healthcare? The Discrimination Act exists to protect you against discrimination, but how does it work in practice? We meet with representatives of Diskrimineringsombudsmannen and Antidiskrimineringsbyrån Väst (the Anti-Discrimination Agency West) to take a closer look at these issues.

Consent through touch – (Samtycke genom beröring) – Workshop in Swedish

10th of June, time: 18.00-20.30 –  RFSL Göteborg, Skeppsbron 4

What do I want to give? And what do I want to receive? Consent is about more than just avoiding a no – it is about finding a genuine, bodily yes. Through simple physical exercises, such as touching hands, in this workshop we explore how the different nuances of consent actually feel in the body. A workshop for LGBTQ people who want to go beyond theory, and practice feeling boundaries, respect and awareness in the moment. We create an open and non-judgmental space where you can explore your own agency and learn to put into words what you feel, both for your own sake and for the sake of others.

10th of June, time: 18.30 – 19.30 – Hörsalen, Pride House, Stadsbiblioteket.

11th of June, time: 14.00-15.30 – RFSL Göteborg, Skeppsbron 4

Welcome to a trans separatistic group discussion where we crack open the lid to talk about the hierarchies we  create within our own community. Which bodies are considered beautiful, who gets status and which bodies are made invisible in our own spaces? We meet to challenge the image of what a “successful” trans body looks like and to find paths towards a broader and more inclusive body acceptance.

Pride Parade – Walk with RFSL Göteborg in the parade

13th of June, Meetup at 12.30 – Gustaf Adolfs Torg – Corral A (closest to the canal)

Join us in the parade. This year RFSL Gothenburg is marching in one united bloc.

Marching for those who can’t is walking at the front of our block. This is our silent section dressed in black and white. Marching for those who can’t is a reminder that walking openly and freely in a pride parade is still not possible for a lot of LGBTQI people. March with us for everyone that is not able to!

Social Groups – This year, several of our groups will also march together in the parade. Connection, Newcomers Göteborg, Hbtq-seniorerna, and Meeting space for Rainbow Families will have their own sections.

We will of course also have a general section where anyone who does not want to march with Marching or any specific group is welcome to go. See you at the parade!
